the software I used to start my own small business

Running a small business involves juggling tasks, deadlines, and responsibilities – for my company and my clients. Utilizing software tools designed to simplify and streamline business operations is key for me to stay on top of everyone’s goals! Thankfully, most of them are cost-efficient and user-friendly.

I’ve trialed and errored a LOT of different platforms since starting my business, but these are the ones that I currently use to keep things running smoothly!

LLC Setup: ZenBusiness

When setting up my business as an LLC, ZenBusiness was by far the best tool on the market. It made the entire process super simple, straightforward, and clear. They had the best pricing and covered everything from filing paperwork to obtaining essential licenses. My filing was customized based on my state, AND they send me annual reminders for tax filings and administrative documents.

Contracts: Honeybook

HoneyBook is the client management platform your small business needs. You can streamline client agreements, manage projects, and get paid all in one place. You can template your documents and emails with your company’s branding, automate reminders and payment follow-ups, and manage your calendar and scheduling.

Accounting: QuickBooks

Track your income and expenses, send invoices, and stay on top of your taxes with Quickbooks. It helps give you a clear picture of your business to make informed financial decisions. Also, it integrates with other software like Mailchimp and Honeybook, which makes keeping everything organized a breeze!

HR: Gusto

Gusto is an easy-to-use platform that helps you manage HR tasks all in one place. You can run payroll, track hours for contractors or part-time workers, organize employee benefits, reviews, and time off, and handle compliance. Plus they have a whole suite of resources for all your HR needs.
