How to switch Instagram Account Types
Are you looking to switch your Instagram from a Personal account to a Business or Creator account?
There are three types of accounts on Instagram:
PERSONAL
A Personal account is the default setting when you sign up for Instagram. You can also make your account private if you’re not interested in having your content discoverable by others.
CREATOR
A creator account is intended more for influencers. They have access to the full music library, analytics, and API access, which allows for tools to plan and publish content.
BUSINESS
Business accounts have the option to add a location, which can help customers find brick-and-mortar businesses. They also have access to third-party social media scheduling and analytics tools.
To switch to a Professional Account:
Go to the hamburger menu in the upper right-hand of the Instagram app on your phone.
Scroll down to Account Type and Tools
Click Switch to Professional Account
Then select which category best fits your business
Make sure Display on Profile is toggled on
Select whether you want a business or creator account
