How to tell if your website has meta descriptions
Does your website have a meta description? Meta descriptions are a short, descriptive summary of a webpage's content, appearing below the title in search engine results pages (SERPs), and they can help increase organic traffic to your site.
You can often tell if your website has meta descriptions just by searching for your page and seeing what shows up in the initial search engine results.
A more advanced way to do it is to right-click on a webpage and click Inspect to view the HTML code of that webpage. Look within the HEAD section to see if there are any meta tags.
If you don’t have meta descriptions or if you need to update them, here are a few tips:
Keep it concise - aim for 120 to 160 characters.
Use clear and engaging language that accurately describes that webpage’s content.
Include relevant keywords.
Write unique descriptions; don’t use the same meta description for multiple pages.
Aim for descriptions that reflect what users are searching for.
