How to change your Instagram account type
Do you know what type of Instagram account you have? As a small business owner, it might be worthwhile to switch to a Business or Creator account if you haven't already. Here's how to do it!
There are three types of accounts on Instagram: '
PERSONAL
A Personal account is the default setting when you sign up for Instagram. You can also make your account private if you’re not interested in having your content discoverable by others.
CREATOR
A creator account is intended more for influencers. They have access to the full music library, analytics, and API access, which allows for tools to plan and publish content.
BUSINESS
Business accounts have the option to add a location, which can help customers find brick and mortar businesses. They also have access to third-party social media scheduling and analytics tools.
Go to the hamburger menu on the Instagram app on your phone.
Scroll down to Business Tools and Controls
Click Switch account type
And select the type of account you’d like to change to.
